Assault Rifle recoil pattern
The Assault Rifle (AK-47) is the gun every Rust fight is measured against: high damage, 30 rounds and a 450 rounds-per-minute fire rate. It's also the hardest spray in the game. It kicks hard upward from the very first bullet and drifts to the right through the whole magazine, so a full uncontrolled spray ends up far above and to the right of your target.
How to control the Assault Rifle
- 1Start pulling down the moment you fire. It climbs from the very first bullet and drifts further right the longer you spray, so pull down and slightly left.
- 2Crouch for long sprays and stand still. Moving adds recoil and widens the aimcone.
- 3At range, tap or burst 3–5 rounds instead of full spraying. It's far easier to keep on target.
- 4A Holosight makes the pattern easier to read than iron sights, and a muzzle brake reduces kick at the cost of extra spread.
